Delete your MyOffshoreApp account

My Offshore App Ltd · Company no. 17335504 · ICO registration ZC201856 · Last updated 23 September 2026

You can delete your MyOffshoreApp account and the personal data we hold about you at any time, from inside the app or by asking us. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

1. Delete from inside the app (fastest)

  1. Open MyOffshoreApp and sign in.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
  4. Confirm. Your account and data are erased straight away and you are signed out.

If you want a copy of your data first, tap Export my data on the same screen before deleting — it gives you a file containing everything on your profile, including all your certificates.

2. Ask us to delete it for you

If you can no longer access the app (for example you have changed phone or lost access to your email), send a request from the email address registered to your account to [email protected] with the subject line “Delete my MyOffshoreApp account”. We may ask you to confirm your identity so that nobody else can delete your account. We will complete the deletion and confirm to you within 30 days, and normally much sooner.

3. What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently erases, at the point of deletion:

Once deleted, recruiters, employers, training centres and operators can no longer see anything about you through MyOffshoreApp.

4. What is kept, and for how long

A small amount of information is kept after deletion because the law requires it or because it does not identify you:

KeptWhyHow long
Invoices already issued by My Offshore App Ltd to training centres (course, centre, date, fee)Legal, tax and accounting obligations. These do not contain your name or contact details; they identify the transaction, not you.6 years from the end of the financial year (HMRC requirement)
Security and access logs (an anonymous internal identifier, the action, the date)To investigate security incidents and to answer data-protection enquiries — for example to show that a recruiter accessed a profile, even after that profile is gone. These logs never contain your name, email or documents.Up to 2 years
Anonymous statistics (e.g. “a worker in the North East booked a GWO course”)Understanding how the app is used. This cannot be linked back to you.Indefinitely
Correspondence with us about a complaint or legal claimTo deal with the complaint or claimUntil resolved, plus any limitation period
Encrypted backups of our databaseDisaster recovery. Backups are not used to restore individual accounts.Automatically overwritten within 14 days
Training centres and certifying bodies. If you booked a course through the app, the training centre holds its own record of your booking as an independent data controller, and any certificate you earned remains with the awarding body (for example GWO/WINDA, OPITO, IRATA). Deleting your MyOffshoreApp account does not delete those — contact them directly.

5. Delete some of your data without closing your account

You do not have to delete your whole MyOffshoreApp account to remove data. Inside the app you can delete or withdraw any of the following at any time — each is removed immediately and permanently:

WhatHow
A certificate and its photo/scan/PDFWallet → open the certificate → Delete. The stored document is erased with it.
Your medical expiry dateWallet → Medical → delete the entry.
Recruiter visibility, employer visibility or a named-operator shareProfile → Consents → switch it off / Withdraw. The organisation loses access the moment you do.
Employer, site, deployment status, availability, preferred centreProfile → edit or clear the field.
Work calendar days, pay and rate entriesCalendar → open the day → Delete; the asking rate is cleared under Profile → Rate.
A conversation with a recruiterMessages → open the conversation → Revoke (closes it and removes their access).
Your CV and authorisationsProfile → CV / Authorisations → Delete.

If you would rather we do it, email [email protected] from your registered address saying what you want removed; we will confirm within 30 days. What is kept afterwards is exactly as in section 4 above. Our full Privacy Policy explains all your rights under UK GDPR, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
